Style Inspiration: Edie Sedgwick

Verovatno ste već čuli za neverovatnu Edie. Rešila sam da posvetim svoj post njoj iz mnogo razloga. Prvenstveno zbog njenog neprevaziđenog stila, harizme i lepote. Nikada nije izgledalo da se previše trudi oko svog izgleda, bio je nonšalantan a  tako savršen! Kao da je nije zanimalo šta će drugi misliti, što je ispalo kao pun pogodak! Pa onda šezdesete godine koje su mi nepresušni izvor inspiracije... Ali, tu je i činjenica da sam dirnuta njenom, na žalost kratkom životnom pričom koja je odlično prikazana u filmu "Factory Girl".

You've probably already heard of the amazing Edie. I decided to dedicate my post to her for many reasons. Primarily because of her amazing style, charisma and beauty. Then, sixties are inexhaustible source of inspiration to me... But, main is the fact that I was so touched by her unfortunately short life story, which is described in the great movie "Factory Girl".

Sredinom 1960-ih , Edie Sedgwick bila je stalni pratilac pop umetnika, ikone šezdesetih godina prošlog veka i filmskog stvaralaca, Andy Warhol-a, i imala ulogu u njegovim počecima i uspehu. Edie je postala poznata u Njujorku kao jedna od "Superzvezda " Andy Warhol-a.

Očaravala je svojom lepotom, stilom, glamurom i bogatstvom. Bila je veoma visprena mlada dama i obožavala je da kupuje odeću. U najboljim radnjama Njujorka kupovala bi sve, od glamurozne odeće do skupocene šminke i minđuša, koje je jako volela. Uspela je da potroši pozamašno nasledstvo.

During the mid 1960's, Edie Sedgwick was the constant companion of pop artist, sixties icon and film-maker, Andy Warhol, and played a part in his early success. Edie became famous in New York as one of Edie Sedgwick's 'Superstars.'

Edie Sedgwick dazzled everyone with her beauty, style, glamour and wealth. She was a very bright and well spoken young lady, having a penchant for shopping. Edie purchased everything, from only the very best stores in New York, including glamourous clothes, as well as considerable quantities of make-up and earings. She managed to spend a large amount of her family inheritance. 

The Sedgwick family included a number of relatives who played a part in early American History. Edie arrived at the factory - backed by such a large family history - and dazzled Warhol. Edie helped to transform the factory's reputation as a place to be seen for all New York's wealthy socialites and trend-setters. During the period from 1963 until 1965, Edie featured in leading magazines such as Time, Life and Vogue. Warhol and Edie became close friends, and received substantial media coverage due to the fact that Edie accompanied Warhol everywhere - to parties at the factory, in Manhattan, and to leading Gallery Exhibitions. Edie added a touch of style and glamour to many art openings, which arguably, resulted in Warhol receiving much more media coverage than would have normally been reserved for an up and coming artist at that time.
